The smallest video games known to man.
When you type "Video games" into Google, the first thing you see is Fortnite. Fortnite is the best and coolest game.
Let's make video games!
If you're like me, you've likely tried to program a game, be it for fun or a class assignment. If you're like me, you probably realized everything that seemed simple took 10-20 times as long as you'd hoped. And if you're like me, you're hoping this is the last time I ever use the phrase, "If you're like me".
Your goal in this very special frontend challenge is to distill the joys of video games into a tiny and minimal game that runs in the browser. You'll likely want to focus on one key mechanic instead of attempting to create a fully fledged first person shooter — but you do you.
Take some time to think about what a game can be. Vinnie says a game must have a lose condition, but he's probably never even played Fortnite, so you don't have to listen to him.
There are many game genres, including:
- Adventure
- Action
- Puzzle
- Simulation
- Strategy
- Experiential
Take some time to stew on your tiny game. There's a good chance that the implementation will be simpler than coming up with a satisfying idea.
